A VoIP phone (or IP-phone) is a phone handset which behaves similarly to a traditional telephone handset except that instead of a normal phone cable it instead connects to your local computer network using an Ethernet cable.
A VoIP adapter (or ATA) is a device which allows you to utilise Internet calling using a traditional telephone handset. The handset should be connected to one port of the device, and another port is provided to connect the same device to your local computer network using an Ethernet cable.
The O·R·P Telephony VoIP service is fully SIP Compliant, and therefore you may utilise any fully compliant sip phone or user agent with our system. We do however recommend the following (which can also be purchased upon request):
